Research
The research is scientifically deep and broad. It encompasses transport phenomena and mechanisms, components, processes and systems. Modelling and numerical simulations as well as experimental investigations with laserbased measurement techniques and thermographically methods are typically occurring.
Laboratories have been established for combustion engines, evaporative gas turbine, high pressure combustor as well as small scale laboratories for fluid mechanics and heat transfer research.
The department is involved in several research centra or other collaborative organizations. So for instance, we are involved in the Combustion Centre (Lund), CECOST (national center of combustion related research), national Turbo Power Consortium, IEA (International Energy Agency), competence center combustion processes (Lund).
