Education
First and second cycle studies
The Department's first and second cycle education is mainly in the field of Energy technology within the Mechanical Engineering programme (M), but courses are also given for the following programmes:
- Engineering Physics (F)
- Fire Protection Engineering (BI)
- Evironmental Engineering (W)
- Engineering Nanoscience (N)
- Electrical Engineering (E)
- Industrial Engineering and Management (I).
Courses are given partly in basic subjects such as thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer and turbulence, and partly as more applied subjects such as internal combustion engines, power plant technology, gas turbines, gas technology, turbulent combustion, energy use and energy supply, energy and environment etc.
More about each course and course plans can be found on Course website LTH.
Master's programme
Our Master's programme Sustainable Energy Technology (MSc) welcomed the first students in the autumn of 2021.

Third cycle studies
At the department, we offer postgraduate education in a number of subjects. If you devote yourself to your full-time doctoral education, you will be a doctoral student in four years. The education consists partly of studies in the form of courses, seminars and conferences and partly of own research that will lead to your doctoral dissertation.
Throughout your studies, you will be guided by supervisors from the department. When you are halfway through your work, you can take a licentiate degree.
