Lund high-pressure combustion facility
Lund high-pressure combustion facility is a facility for combustion technology experiments under conditions similar to combustion in gas turbines for electricity production and aircraft engines. The main research area concerns sustainable fuels.
History
In the wake of the decision to decommission the Barsebäck nuclear power plant, the government decided on June 26, 1997, to establish a delegation tasked with developing electricity and heat supply in southern Sweden.
The Delegation for Electricity and Heat Supply in Southern Sweden (DESS) financed, among other things, the construction of a high-pressure rig at Lund University of Technology for combustion technology experiments aimed at gas turbines.
Planned activities The planned combustion engineering experiments are currently within the framework of the competence center for sustainable turbine fuels for aviation and power production funded by the Swedish Energy Agency, academia, and industry; for details, see the website of the CESTAP project.
